A portrait built almost entirely from shadow, held together by two thin lines of red. It reads less like a print and more like an engraved plate wrapped around a vertical silhouette.
Design Story
The focal panel centres a grinning pirate in a plumed tricorn stacked with skull insignia, rendered in graphite greys against a matte black field. A faint compass ring sits behind the head, giving the composition a circular anchor without competing with the face. Beneath it, restrained typography reads GOL D. ROGER over PIRATE KING, with a small helm-and-cross motif closing the vertical rhythm. The palette is disciplined: monochrome detail, one crimson accent, no filler.
Use & Experience
On a tumbler, the artwork sits exactly where it should. The graphic occupies the upper body of the vessel at eye level, so the face reads first from across a room, while the lower taper stays empty as deliberate negative space. The red handle and red straw echo the crimson lettering, turning hardware into part of the composition rather than an interruption. Carried, it works as a bold graphic accessory with a quiet dark-luxury edge.
