Design Story

The centre panel carries a hilltop castle in muted stone grey, its towers and pennants set against a faded cream sky, with deep green woodland massing along the base. Around it, a double border works in navy and oxblood, filled with gold scrollwork, fleur-de-lis, crowned shields, crossed swords, helms and corner lions. The palette is restrained and antiqued: parchment, slate, forest, wine, worn gold. Visual hierarchy is clean — a wide illustrated field, then an ornamental frame, then a narrow dark edge that closes the shape.

Room & Styling

As a floor piece, the centred medallion structure reads correctly from standing height and from any seat in the room. The heavy border defines the rug's footprint against wood flooring, while the lighter sky area gives the eye negative space so furniture legs landing on the field never crowd the motif.
