Design Story

The composition is built on contrast rather than motion. A deep crimson field, patterned with repeated script lettering and small quatrefoil motifs, meets a pale cream field along a gilded diagonal. That curve is the structural spine of the image, and the large ornamented script A sits where it opens widest, becoming the unmistakable visual anchor. Around it, magnolia-like blossoms, pearl strands and a woven houndstooth band act as secondary notes, deliberately quieter in tone. Negative space in the cream panel keeps the arrangement from crowding, so the eye settles on the letter first, then wanders outward to the ornament.

Carry & Styling

On a wallet silhouette the scale reads correctly: the letterform occupies roughly a third of the front cover, large enough to register instantly in hand, small enough that the surrounding detail survives. The diagonal leads the eye along the length of the piece, and the hierarchy stays legible whether the wallet is resting on a table or drawn from a bag. Formal enough for evening, restrained enough for everyday carry.
